The Differentiators that set your business apart.

First we spent time at analysing the industry dynamics and what weaknesses if any existed at our competitors. Our biggest learnings was that most were simply copying pasting what others we doing. We spend considerable energy in hiring good resources, improving customer service and quietly focussing on the opportunities that lied ahead of us. We built our unique proposition and maintained lead.

 What is the big idea of the business that is impacting human lives?

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Blockchain. Over the next 5 years these three technological innovations will reshape the way business is done, tasks are performed, and how data security is kept intact.

It’s often said that leaders these days must operate in an environment of extreme volatility. Do you agree? How does that affect the way you lead?

We live in a complex & connected world. There are disruptions in almost every business. You can either let your business be caught off guard and live in fear for what might come next, or be on top of developments and prepare your business for the next mile. A sound agile business plan executed well will hold good irrespective.

A satisfied customer is the best business strategy of all. What has been your core strategies of retaining customers?

India is a price conscious nation. If you can deliver good price and quality consistently you will retain customers and have more multiplying to do business with you. That being said, not every person is your customer, so choose wisely! Learn to say no. Stay in touch with the customer and reward loyalty.

3 Business Strategies of yours that were winners?

a) Developing products and services that offer superior value.

B) Targeting a specific industry segment and ignoring the rest.

C) Building network effects with strong partnerships.

Your strategies to ensure that you stay in touch with employees and customers in line with the company’s goals?

The 20+ WhatsApp groups I have on my phone with my colleagues. I read a lot and prepare everyone working in the company on what’s coming next and how we must stay relevant.

What is the best business advice you’ve ever heard? How do you create trust with the employees and the overall management?

Best business advice: It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it. If you’d think about that, you will do things differently.

Trust with any stakeholder cannot be attained overnite. You have to constantly work on your relationships and build bridges. Being approachable irrespective of which corner office you sit in.

What has surprised you about being an entrepreneur?

Honestly nothing. Being an entrepreneur is a personal choice. It should be that way. Do things your way, listen to advice but follow your head!

What strategies do you use in terms of planning your personal career progression?

I keep myself updated about changes that are happening in the industry. I try and keep my goals small and manageable- this helps in surprising me often on meeting my own expectations and keeps me motivated.
