The group business was started as a partnership firm under the name and style of “Sai Silks” on August 10, 2005. The partnership firm was converted into a Private Limited Company in the year 2008 under the name and style of “Sai Silks (Kalamandir) Private Limited” and later on converted into a Public Limited company and received fresh certificate of incorporation on May 21, 2009 from the ROC, Andhra Pradesh. The company started as a retailer of sarees in Hyderabad in 2005 on a very modest scale with a Retail Outlet of 3213 Sq. Ft. It has a network of 24 retail outlets in South India spread across more than 2 Lakhs Sq. Ft area. It is majorly in the business of retailing of sarees under the brand name of “Kalamandir”, “Mandir” and “Kancheepuram Varamahalakshmi Silks” with the various price range.

The company has also entered into the business of generation of Electricity through Non-conventional energy sources by setting up a wind power project having a capacity of 2 MW at Kondamedapally, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, In the busy world where corporate are often behind profits, the company believed that there should be a give and take policy. A noble thought of being responsible towards society beyond business gave a way to Kalamandir Foundation, a Corporate Social Responsibility division of Kalamandir. Its the first of its kind in the retail industry. Kalamandir Foundation was launched on 7th July, 2010. The foundation aims to create awareness on protecting the environment, nature and social health.
