THE SHRI RAM SCHOOL
The Shri Ram School’s (TSRS’s) journey began in 1988 when Manju Bharat Ram established a junior school in New Delhi. The school’s vision was to follow the tradition of Shri Ram, founder of SRF Foundation. He envisioned building a better society for tomorrow through knowledge.
TSRS has four main campuses – one in New Delhi and three in Gurgaon, the Indian capital’s satellite city. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), TSRS, since 2000, has been following an inclusive education structure.
It has devised several schemes like the Special Education Needs Programme and the Shri Early Education Programme. Apart from these, for students aged between 10 and 15 years, a separate curriculum is followed which helps students in self development and improves their social skills.
Some of its campuses also take in students who want to follow the curriculum of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), an autonomous organisation in India which provides vocational, life enrichment and community-oriented courses besides general academic courses at the secondary and senior secondary levels.
Admission forms for the school’s nursery wing are made available from October every year.
A major portion of the admission process is laid out by the Delhi state government. The candidates must be at least three-and-a-half-years old and parents need to appear for an interview on the basis of which the final list is drawn up. For admissions into higher standards, different parameters are followed.
The school has about 360 staff members in three of its campuses. Out of this, 275 are academic and 85 are non-academic staff.
As a school, TSRS attaches a lot of importance to extra-curricular and co-curricular activities at both the inter and intra-school levels and accordingly encourages its students to excel in many activities.
These activities include quiz competitions, debates, creative writing, drama classes, clay modelling, sports, etc. Apart from this the school also promotes physical education, health education and environment awareness.
