The journey of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, a deemed university, began in 1986 when Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust came into existence with an aim to educate people and deliver cutting-edge research in medical sciences. Dr N.M. Veeraiyan, the current chancellor of the deemed university, believes that the reason behind the success of his institution is the success of its students.

With the help of innovative teaching methodologies, Saveetha is on a mission to transform young minds into intellectuals. With a well-structured academic curriculum, it believes in enhancing the overall persona of its students by implementing best teaching and research practices.

Saveetha’s Chennai campus, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, was built with a dream to make higher education accessible to the masses. In a short span of time, it has introduced numerous colleges like the Saveetha College of Nursing, the Saveetha College of Physiotherapy and the Saveetha Engineering College. Imparting quality education in the fields of medicine, engineering, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, management and law, Saveetha has become a name to reckon with.

Ranked amongst the best of dental colleges in Tamil Nadu by a high-level committee appointed by the state government, Saveetha Dental College is one of the few colleges in India where under-graduates place dental implants, plan full-mouth cases and prepare fixed partial denture. It provides clinical training which is at par with the international standards helping its students attain proficiency in forensic odontology.

Using print and electronic media to reach its audience at large, Saveetha has made an effort to change its conventional methods of working. Catering to the digitally savvy youth, the online portal of the institute connects with its students to resolve their issues. Festival celebrations, annual day celebrations and frequently run student-centric programmes boost the morale of its students.

“Shaping the future of the country with the leaders of tomorrow, Saveetha University is revitalising the creativity of learning minds. With an environment conducive for value-based learning, we believe in nurturing the intelligence of our students and guiding them to pursue their passion through knowledge which goes beyond published documents,” says the chancellor.
