Formerly known as Management Education Institute and established in 1964 by Arthur D Little Inc., Hult International Business School got its name in 2003 from its benefactor Bertil Hult. One of Europe’s most successful entrepreneurs, Hult financially supported the school to expand from its single Boston location to a global network of campuses that include London, Shanghai and San Francisco in addition to Dubai. The school strives to honour Hult’s vision of training effective managers to thrive on a global stage.

The Switzerland-based Education First (EF), the largest privately held education provider in the world with over 400 schools, manages the business school.

Hult’s campus is strategically located in the Dubai Internet City, nestled between Dubai Media city and Dubai Knowledge Village. It’s in close vicinity of the offices of global IT giants like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, HP, Dell and Cisco among others, offering immense networking and partnership opportunities.

Hult Dubai offers three different business programmes catering to different target groups – a one-year full time MBA for junior executives planning a big leap in their professional life, a two-year part-time executive MBA for professionals who seek to enhance their credentials and knowledge, and a masters in international business for under-graduates.

Hult’s one-year MBA programme is the world’s first MBA to be designed by business leaders. With inputs from leading CEOs and employers, the MBA curriculum fully integrates interpersonal soft skills and practical business applications. It ensures MBA students graduate with critical skills and real-world experience.

Hult offers students a unique opportunity to see the world while they study for the one-year MBA. One could begin in Dubai, then travel to Shanghai via London or São Paulo, or San Francisco via Boston or New York. One gets an inside look at the world’s fastest growing economies and examine international business practices close-up. This inter-continental exposure also allows students to work alongside peers from 140 nationalities who speak as many as 105 languages.

The AMBA and BAC-accredited Hult programme has earned several international awards and recognitions. It has been ranked 57th Best Business School in the world in the FT Business School Rankings 2013. Guillaume Carnaille, 23, a French student from the class of 2011 Master of International Business programme, says, “Hult offered me the opportunity to study in two of the most exciting and growing cities in the world: Dubai and Shanghai. I have had the time to get to know the business culture and practices in both the places.”

A unique feature of the Hult curriculum is a lecture series titled Visionary Speaker series – an innovative means of inviting thought leaders with exemplary achievements on Hult campuses around the world, to address open forums and share latest business practices and industry insights. From Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, to Bill Clinton, the 42nd US President, several leaders have visited Hult campuses around the world.

Hult alumni members hold positions of power and prestige in top corporate organisations. These alumni members not only provide immense networking opportunities for current students but also actively promote academic excellence by contributing generously towards the student scholarship programme.
