Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has complimented the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for initiating several pilgrim-friendly measures in the inner precincts of the temple without disturbing its architectural ambience.
Addressing the media after offering prayers on Wednesday, the Governor said the changes effected to the ancient Ranganayakula mandapam inside the temple complex had a telling spiritual effect on the minds of the devotees.
Appreciating TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal for conceiving the idea, Mr. Narasimhan said the removal of the brass gates on the exterior side of the mandapam brought the hidden architectural marvel to the fore. Similarly, pilgrims were also delighted at having a clear vision of the ‘dwajasthambam’ even from the outer side of the complex.
Mr. Narasimhan was also praise for the initiatives being taken up for the ‘Vaikuntha Ekadasi’ festival, and sounded optimistic that the measures would enable every pilgrim have darshan of the presiding deity on the auspicious festival days on December 18 and 19.
Earlier, as is the tradition, he, along with his wife Vimala, offered prayers at the Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy temple situated on the north-western banks of the temple tank.
