Alfaisal University Medical College was established to generate more working hands for the manpower-starved health sector in Saudi Arabia. The college is located in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. It follows innovative teaching methodologies that include problem-based learning and community-based education.

The MBBS programme comprises a five-year curriculum that follows a year of internship. It encompasses three sequential phases – introduction to the sciences relevant to medicine, system-based learning and clinical clerkship.

The college adopts research-focussed, student-centred, problem-based, community-based, integrated, elective and systematic models of learning to teach its students.

Its programmes in biomedical sciences are designed to produce graduates who are academically sound, socially responsible, have a global perspective and aspire to assume leadership. It aims to produce basic and applied research that world’s leading journals can publish.

The college works in partnership with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh and Security Forces Hospital, Riyadh for recruiting faculty members and to explore internship opportunities for the students.

It has collaborated with Partners Harvard Medical International (PHMI), a subsidiary of Harvard Medical School, for structuring the curriculum, designing the infrastructure and developing the faculty.

It has signed a ten-year agreement with PHMI, allowing the latter to share on its advisory board and other committees.

Alfaisal University Medical College is committed to its vision of creating responsible healthcare leaders in the region, apart from fulfilling its more immediate goal of producing more healthcare professionals for sector.
