BLAZE TO BRILLIANCE
Godrej was the first Indian company to manufacture refrigerators and has become synonymous with the category. The company launched PUF (polyurethane foam) technology way back in the 80s which helped in creating 100 per cent CFC free fridges much before green got fashionable. After which they added colourful doors to these cooling machines. And they still continue to manufacture new products with changing demands and lifestyles of people.

Godrej Appliances launched India’s first 100 per cent green refrigerator in 2002, and to date Godrej is the only company to have a 100 per cent green refrigerator. Godrej Appliances was also the first one to launch a five star DC range. Godrej is the only company in India and one of the few companies in the world that meets the ultimate global requirement on environmentfriendliness. Both the insulation and the refrigerant is 100 per cent CFC, HCFC and HFC free. This results in zero global warming and zero Ozone depletion.

As an initiative in this space, the company has taken a step towards reusing discarded materials as a resource for manufacturing.

Godrej has been awarded with various accolades and has been also voted as the ‘Most Trusted Brand’ (Reader’s Digest consumer survey) four years in a row by the consumers. It has also bagged the CNBC Consumer Awaaz Award three years in a row.
At the Consumer World Awards for 2008, Godrej Eon refrigerator was chosen as ‘Mera Brand of the Year’. Godrej refrigerators were also conferred the National Energy Conservation Award 2009 by the Government of India. Godrej & Boyce received the Leader in Energy Efficiency & Sustainability Award.
