  1. 1.How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Manufacturing sector in India has huge potential of growth but the inefficiencies of doing business that are holding back the growth of the industry is what triggered the idea of founding Moglix. Manufacturing is a $ 300 Bn industry in India out of which only 5% are using digital ways of supply chain management.

It was this realisation of the vast opportunity that B2B commerce space held, along with the willingness to bring about a positive change in the manufacturing hub of India to take it to global standards that led to the concept of Moglix. I noticed the glaring gap in India’s procurement space, undertook my own research and invested considerable time in talking to customers, industry stakeholders to understand the situation better and then incepted Moglix in 2015. 

  1. Describe your three most pressing business concerns.

The key business concerns are expanding in the right markets and hiring the right talent. We are currently aiming to launch in three more cities and expand our warehouse facilities. While we aim to expand in newer markets, getting the right human resource is critical to build a sustainable organization and preserve the culture.

  1. If you have unlimited resources, what would your business look like in five years?

We are committed to build a global technology company from India focusing on the manufacturing and supply chain domain. So in 5 years time, I would like to see Moglix to be a 10 Billion USD organization serving the top global organizations in this domain in some form or manner.

4. How do you advertise your business? Which marketing channels do you use to promote your business?

We have a digital presence and market ourselves on social media collaterals of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.  We also use Google Adwords to reach our target customers.

5. To what do you attribute your success?

Success comes with the backing of a strong leadership team and backing of industry experts. Leadership team at Moglix is formed of seasoned industry veterans who have years of domain experience behind them. We also attribute our success to our investors who have continued to believe in us. We are backed by Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Mr Ratan Tata who has guided us in gaining a strong foothold in the sector and build Moglix into an established partner for manufacturers. 6. What do you look for in an employee?

We, at Moglix, believe that there is no alternative to hard work.  Even if we hire smart people from good engineering colleges and B-schools, hard-work and professional integrity is something we value a lot. When choosing employees, we look for people with domain expertise in manufacturing/supply chain and also the ones who are passionate to bring about the disruption that we are striving for.

7. What are your company’s goals?

We have simplified our company’s goals on 2 fronts – EBITDA positive, Customer Satisfaction. We are on course to achieve overall profitability in the next 18-24 months and constantly improving our customer satisfaction index. While pursuing these goals, we believe we’ll be able to surpass any other market benchmarks/metrics.

8. What is unique about your business?

Moglix’s uniqueness lies in its ability and expertise to integrate technology with a complex and traditional domain of manufacturing and supply chain management. We provide complete end-to-end solutions by building digital technology into procurement function of manufacturers. This includes our GreenGST solution that helps manufacturing units make their supply chains 100% GST complaint.

9. What are your responsibilities as the business owner?

The primary responsibility as a business owner is to ensure that one has a strong leadership which is equally driven, passionate and committed as you are. A team which constantly challenges status quo for innovation, growth hacking and scalable business opportunities. Today, my focus is on exploring how we can deliver a remarkable experience to B2B commerce aided by technology, innovation, product quality and service to our customers.

I am a tech-geek. My best fun moments at work come out of brainstorming on how technology can disrupt / change the world for better.

An extensive experience in Strategy, Product Management and Operations in technology industry was a foundation for starting up Moglix. Prior to founding Moglix in August 2015, I was the Head of Advertising and Strategy at Google Asia. I have also served as Chairperson of Marketing and AdTech committee at IAB, Singapore. Companies like Conexant Systems, Freescale Semiconductor and Ittiam Systems form part of my journey in the technology industry. I hold 16 US patents and have partnered with quite a few early stage startups. I am alum of IIT Kanpur and of India School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, where I was awarded prestigious Scholar of Excellence.
